Media Inquiries

There has been a lot of interest in TEDxTbilisi from members of the press and we are very grateful for your inquiries.  The idea and spirit behind TEDxTbilisi is something we would love to see shared as widely as possible. However, we are a licensee of the larger TED events and we are beholden to follow their guidelines about press and cameras.  The guidelines below are quoted directly from the TED website:

Having media attend your TEDx event:  At TED, we keep the number of journalists to a minimum. We ask you to do the same. Only invite media you know personally.
  • Members of the press are not allowed to take pictures of or film/videotape your TEDx event. Instead, find one in-house photographer and share selections with the media.

Distribution: Talks and other content recorded at your event may not be distributed on broadcast television, cable television, satellite television or on-demand TV.

Since the number of press allowed is limited, there is no 'accreditation' process for general press attendees.

For press looking for additional information, the agenda and speaker bios are (will be) posted on the www.tedxtbilisi.com website.  There is great footage from other TED and TEDx events available online at www.TED.com.

All press requests should be sent to Mary Gabashvili or Deborah Fairlamb, as they are the official spokespersons for TEDxTbilisi.  Mary is covering requests in Georgian and can be reached at 577 722 203.  Deborah is covering requests in English and is best reached at tedxtbilisi2013@gmail.com .

Please note that TEDx event organizers are not able to speak for the TED Conference. Any inquiry regarding TED should be sent to: Melody Serafino, TEDx Media Liaison   TEDxPR@groupsjr.com

While we appreciate any coverage, we kindly ask that all journalists and/or bloggers be respectful of the difference between the TED and TEDx brands!

The 'x' in 'TEDx' stands for "independently organized events." Any headline or text which implies "TED" is coming to Tbilisi is misleading.

For more information on TEDx, visit http://www.ted.com/tedx.

Please Note:  Members of the press are not allowed to take pictures of or film/videotape the live TEDxTbilisi event and talks and other recorded content will not be distributed on broadcast television, cable television, satellite television or on-demand TV per TED rules.
